Database Admin – Team Leader

IT department

 JOB SCOPE:

 Organizes, coordinates and controls Unit activities;

  • Creates, manages and monitors internal KPIs assigned to team, and evaluates the performance of its team member;
  • Ensures timely execution of all tasks within scope of Unit’s duties and responsibilities;
  • Prepares information, reports and analyses from the Unit responsibilities domain;
  • Participates in IT strategy development;
  • Coordinates IT systems implementation with vendors;
  • Performs other duties and activities based on the superior’s requests and instructions;
  • Manages, monitors and evaluates the performance of its immediate subordinates;
  • Responsible for all aspects of the design, development and delivery / implementation of Oracle and Microsoft database solutions
  • Responsible for ensuring high availability, administration, management, optimum performance and efficiency, capacity planning, integrity and security of various Solaris, Oracle and Microsoft Production, QA and Development environments
  • Responsible for improvement and maintenance of the Oracle and Microsoft databases to include rollout and upgrades,  implementation and release of database projects
  • Accurately determine, assign, track and manage project task, activity, documentation, and time information.
  • Create and maintain database, interface, and process design documentation. Communicate data architecture to colleagues. Train others where needed.

MINIMUM CRITERIA AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of system administration, analysis or programming experience on different platforms, including 5+ years of Oracle/SQL database systems administration and programming experience.
  • Experience working with teams in the support of applications.
  • Communication skills and ability to work with personnel of various levels of technical background.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision.
  • The ability to communicate and understand complex technical issues or business requirements in English.
  • Willingness to be available on a 24x7 basis if needed.
  • Working knowledge of Solaris and/or Linux and/or UNIX operating systems will be considered as an advantage
